Standard controls are the basic and cheapest in the range they can be wired or wireless. Slowly becoming more and more popular and recommended by Heat Trend is Open Therm controls, these are similar to your standard controls but modulate the boilers output to suit demand improving efficiency and lifespan of the boiler. Weather compensating works similar to open therm however with this we use an outside sensor to modulate the boiler. Internet controls are becoming more and more popular with the use of smart phones to control the heating in your home, some are also open therm such as the NEST version 3.
