New Boiler Installation Combi, System and Conventional
OPTO Gas & Electrical specialise in the installation and maintenance of domestic boilers. We carry out all our work to the highest of standards. We are Ideal and Viessmann accredited installers, we have also fitted many other brands including Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Potterton, Ravenheat, Vaillant and Glow-Worm along with other brands not as frequently.
How we operate
We are not into hard selling. If you are interested in having a new boiler installed by us you only need to contact us by any of the methods available. We will book you in for a free site survey. This will be an in depth look into the work that needs to be carried out, including water samples, siting of boiler, running of pipework and so forth. We very rarely give quotes onside as we like to check that we are getting the latest best prices in order to give you the best quote possible.
Once you have accepted the quote if your current boiler is in operation we will come by two days prior to installation if possible to dose system with a high quality chemical cleaner. This will give the cleaner time to work and will achieve a better system clean. On installation day we will flush the system through with old boiler in place. We carry out the installation to the boiler manufacturers instructions as to protect any warranty that is included by the brand. We also fit central heating filters of a high quality as standard along with a mini expansion vessel, these again are in place to protect both the boiler and the boilers warranty.
Once the boiler has been installed we commission the installation testing all radiators and balancing system as required. We register the boiler with the manufacturers for warranty on your behalf and notify gas safe of the installation of which a certificate will follow. Within a week or so of installation we come back to check system over bleeding radiators adjusting system pressure making sure you as the customer are 100% satisfied with the work carried out.
Is it worth getting a new boiler?
Modern boilers are much more efficient that older boilers and came be made even more so with the addition of modulating heating controls. These over time will give you large savings on your gas bill and will be much more reliable as long as the system is correctly maintained and serviced.
Whats a combi (combination) boiler, system boiler and heat only?
A combination boiler or combi boiler as they are better known provide both heating and hot water on demand without the need of a cylinder. They are by far the biggest selling type of boiler in the UK market and have many advantages, however they also come with some disadvantages which may make one of the other types a better choice for you. A system boiler is used in conjunction with a cylinder and other controls to provide heating on demand and stored hot water in much the same way as a conventional or heating only boiler would. However a system boiler has the pump built into the boiler a heat only needs a separate pump installed.
